Kaye M. Rex age 70, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 after a courageous battle against lung cancer. She is survived by her loving and devoted sons, James Rex, Bradley (Tara) Rex and Brian (Tracie) Rex; grandchildren, Jeremy (Miranda) Rex, Jordan, Jamie, Logan and Madison Rex; great grandchildren, Andrew and Clayton Rex; loving sister, Janice (Frank) Demps; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, James E. Rex: parents, Elmer and Dot Plohg, and mother and father in law Kenneth and Cecelia Rex. Kaye was born on March 2, 1947 in Gary, IN and was a graduate of Griffith High School Class of 1965 and went on to receive her Cosmetology license. On April 16, 1966 she married the love of her life, Jim. Together they made a family and built their dream home, residing there until the end. Throughout the years she worked for the family company, Rex Construction, and also was a co-owner in Triex Development. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, always putting her children's needs first. Many people say there is nothing like a mother's love, and they are right. Kaye was a wonderful person who showed love to everyone she came in contact with. She was caring and beautiful inside and out. She loved life, her family, and her friends. She was not an extravagant women and found joy in taking care of her chickens and being out on her mower.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Park Place Rehabilitation for the wonderful care and concern for Kaye and our family. Also, a special thank you to Kaye's extended family and friends who were there for her until the end.
