Donald L. Hynd, age 91 of Crown Point, passed away peacefully, on March 28, 2015 at Whittenberg Village of Crown Point. Donald was born May 5, 1923 in Thawville, Illinois to the late Harold and Maude (Hanson) Hynd. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Joan Margaret (Remley) Hynd, and his siblings: Helen Allen, Kinley Hynd, Lillian Isham, and Barry Hynd. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Clifford L Hynd, Cathy L. Hynd- Whelpley, and John M. Hynd; a grandson, Jason Matthew (Bridgett) Whelpley, many nieces and nephews...

Donald L. Hynd, age 91 of Crown Point, passed away peacefully, on March 28, 2015 at Whittenberg Village of Crown Point. Donald was born May 5, 1923 in Thawville, Illinois to the late Harold and Maude (Hanson) Hynd. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Joan Margaret (Remley) Hynd, and his siblings: Helen Allen, Kinley Hynd, Lillian Isham, and Barry Hynd. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Clifford L Hynd, Cathy L. Hynd- Whelpley, and John M. Hynd; a grandson, Jason Matthew (Bridgett) Whelpley, many nieces and nephews and cousins; and many friends and neighbors at Whittenberg Village. Mr. Hynd was a farmer in Beaversville, Illinois until 1961 when he relocated his family to Tuscon, where he worked on missile sites, then became a sales representative for a small tool company for the Colorado and Northern Arizona Territory, he then served auto dealerships in the Colorado and Crown Point area. Don selfless served in the United Sates Army during World War II as a medic in the stateside mental hospitals. He was proud of his Scottish decent and his family can be found in the Burnside publications. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Cory Wielert officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
